In a country where our tourism leaders at Local, State & Federal level have never for one day never operated in the real tourism space, but rather gifted their offices.
Nigeria’s tourism sector is struggling, and a major reason is the reluctance to bring in industry experts.
Instead of leveraging professional insights and strategic planning, the approach has been largely improvised.
The tourism industry isn’t for only for events & jamborees, neither is it a medium to only engage nollywood and Afro beats celebrities.
This lack of expertise has hindered the growth and potential of what could be a vibrant and lucrative industry.
For Nigeria’s tourism to truly thrive, it’s essential to invest in knowledgeable professionals who can guide and develop the sector with the skill and foresight it deserves.
Should they choose to not invest in professionals to lead us, they should at least support the private sector doing the most, rather than make us look like beggars in our attempt to support our sector which is our bread and butter not theirs….so we protect & guard with our lives.
